About the deck

Eureka Skydeck 88 occupies the 88th floor of Eureka Tower in Melbourne's Southbank district at 285 metres, making it the Southern Hemisphere's highest observation deck. The indoor 360-degree deck has floor-to-ceiling glass and a signature add-on experience: The Edge, a glass cube that extends 3 metres outside the building's facade and tilts 15 degrees toward the ground. The tower is named for the Eureka Stockade, the 1854 gold miners' rebellion that has become an Australian symbol of workers' rights - the gold-banded top of the building references the miners' gold pans..

The honest take

Eureka Tower has a 0.0% Vanity Ratio by our calculation - the rooftop and the architectural top are effectively identical. Eureka Skydeck 88 is at 285m in a 297.3m building. You are at a legitimate 96% of the building's full height. The Southern Hemisphere is, on average, more honest about its skyscrapers.
