About the deck
SkyPoint is the observation deck on the 77th floor of Q1 in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast at 230 metres. Q1 was the world's tallest residential building at completion in 2005 and remains one of the highest residentially-topped towers in the Southern Hemisphere. The indoor 360-degree deck offers views along the 70km Gold Coast beach strip, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the subtropical hinterland and McPherson Range to the west, and south toward the Queensland-New South Wales border.
A separate SkyPoint Climb experience (additional charge) involves a guided walk on the outer spire structure above the deck..
The honest take
Q1 has a 12.3% Vanity Ratio by our calculation. The SkyPoint deck at 230m is well within the building's occupied zone. This is a residential tower, and most floors above the deck are apartments - no spire padding below the point you're standing on.
