About the deck
SHIBUYA SKY is the outdoor rooftop observation platform of Shibuya Scramble Square, a 47-story tower completed in 2019 directly above Shibuya Station - one of the world's busiest rail junctions. The deck sits at 229m and is entirely outdoors, a panoramic sky stage surrounded by wind barriers. The location above Shibuya Crossing (one of the most photographed intersections on earth) means the view directly below is uniquely urban: hundreds of pedestrians crossing a six-way intersection surrounded by LED screens.
On clear days, Mount Fuji is visible to the west..
The honest take
At 229m, SHIBUYA SKY is not the highest Tokyo observation deck (Tokyo Skytree's Tembo Galleria at 450m holds that title). But the location directly above Shibuya Crossing makes it one of the most visually distinctive. The same $19.80 ticket that gets you onto this outdoor rooftop gets you Tokyo Skytree's indoor Tembo Galleria - identical price for 221 additional metres of elevation. Choose accordingly.
